Why does News and Interests memory leak occur?
Heres how to update Windows to the latest version to solve News and Interests taking up memory.
In the prefs menu, scroll down to look forUpdate & Securityand hit it.
Under theWindows Updatetab, hitCheck for updatesand then follow the on-screen guideline to download & implement the latest update.
Fix 2: Disable Widget via Gpedit.msc
This method is not available on Windows Home.
If you are on the Home edition of Windows, c’mon move to the next solution.
PressWin+Rto open theRundialog box.
ExpandComputer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>News and Interest.
On the right-hand pane, double-click onEnable news and interests on the taskbar.
Inside the policy tweaks, tickDisabledand hitApply.
Fix 3: Edit the Registry Key
Step 1.
Navigate to:Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Feeds
Step 4.
In the right-hand pane, scroll down to findShellFeedsTaskbarViewModeand double-punch it.
Change theValue datato2and click onOK.
Step 6. reboot your gear.
